DESCRIPTION
We like to refer to the vessel as a Classic styled cruiser. The vessel was custom designed and built by us over a period of 8 months. The owner, who is Norwegian, has named the vessel "TERNA". TERNA is designed and built to meet the stringent EU requirements for all vessels entering into Europe and is CE Classified by Det Norske Veritas.
The hull form is a typical Norman R. Wright & Sons semi-displacement hull. It comprises a round bilge forward with high spray chine and hard chine aft on the planing surface. This provides the occupants with the best of both worlds, the performance benefits of a hard chine boat and the sea keeping attributes of a round bilge boat.

The vessel has a traditional sheerline with dark blue hull, red antifouling and gold cove stripe on the topsides. The aft transom corners are fitted with polished stainless steel feature plates to accentuate the tumblehome. The large teak swim platform houses the 10kg Bruce stern anchor and is launched by a Muir winch located under the cockpit seats. The area fwd of the transom has a varnished teak topped storage locker to port and a insulated ice-box to stbd. A hinged transom door and transom shower are also found in this area. |
The cockpit is fitted out with a U-shaped settee which has a removable section to stbd to access the swim platform without having to climb over the transom. The seat backs have built in lockers for glass and wine storage. The deck is laid with teak. The observer and helm seats are fitted on slides and will accommodate the owner, his wife and three children while underway. The vessel is fitted with a vast array of electronics including a Simrad chart plotter and an Echopilot forward looking sounder.
A custom teak wheel and walnut burl dash finish this area. To port can be found the walnut burl chart table with chart storage under.

The sliding teak companionway leads down 4 stairs to the luxuriously appointed cabin. The entire interior is finished in varnished teak. The sole is teak and holly throughout. The deckheads are satin finished with traditional lounge and groove with teak trims. Halogen downlights provide the interior lighting. A Sony CD sound system is fitted with speakers in the saloon, helm and cockpit areas. All of the speakers can be controlled individually depending on the conditions.
